Pooped out!
Introducing Abby Caiyu SchaeferYes Aunt Debbie's outfit was the first

A long time coming!
What a day it has been! We woke up, ate breakfast and gathered on the second floor balcony to
wait for the orphanage to bring the babies. They arrived about 10:45 carried by the workers and the orphanage director. We picked Abby out among them and as they carried them past us Mark and I recognized that precious little face, she was being carried by the director. They took them to a room where we all had to wait until they called our names to turn them over to us. All the babies were crying and most of the mommies too. We were told a few details about her from some notes they had taken from her foster mom. The rest we are left to figure out on our own. Within minutes she had stopped crying and within an hour she had smiled and was talking and playing with me. She is just curious about Mark at this point. She won't let him hold her but you
could tell by this evening she was talking to him a little bit from across the room. We can already see her personality, she seems to be independant and has a temper. That was confirmed in her paperwork. She has great motor skills and studies everything I do and then tries to mimic me. She took two naps today and has fallen asleep at 9:15 after watching a portion of Nemo which she seemed to enjoy.

What a joy for Abby to receive her parents today! She's beautiful! In the days ahead, she will find her new joy in being a part of your family. It will be neat to watch that happen.

Continued prayers for safe travel and family bonding.
